Weiv was a software platform that brings interactive, videogame-like media to live performances using up to 7 Wii Remotes.
Early on, it was just me building it through design, programming, and art. Eventually as I grew it into a business, I brought on two partners who focused on QA & Outreach and Engineering, respectively.
Over time my partners took on more of a major role in directing the business with me, while I still focused on designing and programming the videogame media, interface design, and graphic design. I was also an art director in charge of freelance artists we contracted with.
Designing Weiv Scenes was very challenging. It involved coming up with a videogame-like scene that had a strong theme that could fit multiple types of music, designing multiple roles that could take place in that environment, making sure each role could be distinguished visually, while keeping the actual screen pleasing for those not interacting.
